Götterdämmerung (literally translated as "Twilight of the Gods") is old German for the Norse word Ragnarok. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, the Pride and Joy Prototype (which resembles the Proud Clod) will drop Götterdämmerung upon defeat. In the original game, the Proud Clod drops the Ragnarok sword upon defeat. In "Episode INTERmission", Yuffie and Sonon can most easily use their synergized limit break ability if both have Götterdämmerungs equipped. Götterdämmerung can also be used to complete the player's Enemy Intel, to get the "used limit break" note on enemies however, there is no specific benefit from doing this, as simply assessing enemies is enough for play log completion (a crown appears in the menu). However, this is not true-the effect is merely halved.

In the Shinra Combat Simulator battle against Weiss in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the battle's description states that the Götterdämmerung has no effect. There is plenty time for his limit to recharge in time for when Whisper Bahamut is fought. Though the Whisper Harbinger has multiple stages, the limit gauge does not reset between battles, and so Cloud can keep his three ATB charges from Refocus throughout them all unless he is KO'd.

Though Götterdämmerung is obtained late, if the player can do the challenge the earliest it is available, Götterdämmerung can be helpful in the hard mode battles against the bosses Jenova Dreamweaver, Rufus, The Arsenal, and the final battles it is great on Cloud for the final showdown, as he is present in every encounter. The accessory couples well with Refocus Materia, allowing the character to start with three ATB gauges while their limit break gauge also recharges faster. Götterdämmerung is the best accessory in the game, allowing the user to start any battle with a huge advantage. The rest of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeis mostly the same game, but with updated visuals and performance. Episode INTERmission also comes with a new set of trophies and adds on additional VR battles, like the one that sees Cloud and the main party going up against Dirge of Cerberus' Weiss the Immaculate. Players can't use items and instead have to rely entirely on ATB for healing. Once player's have completed the DLC for the first time, they'll unlock Hard Mode for an additional challenge. Just like the main game, there are a host of side quests to complete while wandering around Midgar, and the DLC also has a few mini-games, like the tactical Fort Condor board game that can be played against different NPCs. While beelining the new DLC will only take a few hours, there are different side activities that get added in with Episode INTERmission.

Doing the side content can easily double that playtime, or add even more depending on the player's pace. Early reports from players put Yuffie's DLC at three to four hours to complete, without engaging in any of the side content, mini-games, and more. Players shouldn't go in expecting near the amount of content as the base game, but Episode INTERmission does add a good amount of content, especially for completionists. The DLC consists of two chapters, and in the base game of FF7 Remake, each chapter usually took around two hours to complete. Although Yuffie is the only playable character in the DLC there are a host of characters introduced, like the new party member and Wutai agent Sonon Kusakabe. Yuffie's DLC picks up near the beginning of the main story, just after Cloud and the party have blown up the Sector 5 reactor.
